ExTIX is a desktop Linux distribution based on paldo GNU/Linux. Like its parent, ExTIX uses a powerful hybrid (source and binary) package management tool called Upkg. The distribution comes as a live DVD and includes a graphical system installer.
Arne Exton has announced the launch of a new version of the ExTiX distribution. ExTiX is based on packages from the Ubuntu repositories and offers alternative desktop environments, such as LXQt. The latest version, ExTiX 16.1, features LXQt 0.10.0, the Google Chrome web browser and the recently released Linux 4.4 kernel. "ExTiX LXQt is based on Ubuntu 15.10 Wily Werewolf. LXQt 0.10.0 (not in Ubuntu’s repositories) is used as the desktop environment. All packages have been updated to the latest version by 16-01-20. Kernel 4.4.0-0-exton is used (kernel.orgs kernel 4.4). Ubuntu 15.10 uses kernel 4.2. Google Chrome is used as web browser, which makes it possible to watch Netflix movies. It is not possible in Firefox (in Linux). I have also installed BlueGriffon web editor. BlueGriffon is a new WYSIWYG content editor for the World Wide Web. Powered by Gecko, the rendering engine of Firefox, its a modern and robust solution to edit web pages in conformance to the latest web standards....
