deepin (formerly, Deepin, Linux Deepin, Hiweed GNU/Linux) is an Ubuntu-based distribution that aims to provide an elegant, user-friendly and reliable operating system. It does not only include the best the open source world has to offer, but it has also created its own desktop environment called DDE or Deepin Desktop Environment which is based on HTML 5 technologies. Deepin focuses much of its attention on intuitive design. Its home-grown applications, like Deepin Software Centre, DMusic and DPlayer are tailored to the average user. Being easy to install and use, deepin can be a good Windows alternative for office and home use.
The deepin team have published a new version of their desktop-oriented, Debian-based distribution. The projects latest release is deepin 20.2 which provides newer kernels, improved file search, and the ability to schedule e-mails being sent. "File Manager - the enhanced full-text search allows you to find the file or folder quickly by searching with both English letters and numbers. File Manager supports changing unmounted disk names, redefines Time accessed and Time modified in file vault, displays information more clearly, and optimizes file operations in different scenarios, making it more convenient to use. Disk Utility - Disk Utility has a new feature - verify or repair bad sectors, adds support for FAT32 and NTFS partitions, and fixes some issues, helping you protect disk health and manage disks easily. Mail - Mail supports these new features: send emails at the specified time, email signatures, capture screen and optimizes many rules in different scenarios such as receiving and sending emails, searching emails.
